It was one month ago that the neighborhood was changed.
Bec pointed out last night it was one month ago we were driving home from Florida when we found out about the fire.
What happened at the Finnerty's comes up frequently in conversations with Q and just between Bec and I. Last night Q had a friend spend the night, both played with the kids frequently, and the friend came up and asked me, "Mr. Finnerty", if I could help him get a glass of water. All of us stared at each other for a split second realizing what was said and then I went on as if he had said my name correctly. Sometimes the healing process must play out in mysterious ways.
The trib has a good article on the "new" family in today's paper and Jennifer is quoted as saying:
"It's such a hard thing to say," she said. "You need to go back ... and make it go away."
I too wish that could happen...
